About
A collection of red rides, kept like postcards
What RedRideTour is
RedRideTour is an independent travel publication. We write guides to memorable red transportation around the world: double-deckers and cable cars, heritage trams, mountain railways, a junk boat with red sails. Each guide is a postcard: one ride, one place, and enough practical detail to actually take it.
We are not a travel agency, tour operator or ticket seller. All content is free to read.
RedRideTour is free to read. It is funded by labelled advertising banners and partner links, including from the Travelpayouts network.
Why red?
Partly because red is the color that makes a vehicle impossible to miss. A red bus on a gray street, a red train on a white mountain, a red sail on a dark harbor: they become the image people take home. Partly because a single color is a playful constraint. It sends us to places we might otherwise skip and gives the collection a common thread.
Why postcards?
A postcard says one thing well. Our format follows that idea: a ride, the story behind it, where to board, which way to go, where to hop off and what to notice on the way. Stamps, postmarks and handwritten notes are our way of making a practical guide feel like something worth keeping.
How we choose rides
A ride makes the collection if it's iconic, still running, open to anyone with a ticket - and genuinely red. We favor public experiences over private charters, routes that show off a place, and rides a curious traveler can manage without special equipment or connections.
Our editorial approach
Every guide pairs atmosphere with usable information: realistic ride times, seating advice, photo stops and links to official operators. We do not publish ticket prices because they change, and we avoid promising schedules, weather or seasonal scenery. Where details are uncertain, we say so and point you to the operator.
Good photography matters to us as much as good directions. We use real photographs, credited to their creators, and never AI-generated images. Spotted something out of date? Send us a correction.
Team & careers
RedRideTour is a small independent publication. We are not currently hiring and do not list staff profiles here. If that changes, this is where you'll hear about it first.
Partnerships, press & media
We are editorially independent and not affiliated with any transport operator featured on the site. Press and partnership questions are welcome through our contact page. See our Advertising Disclosure for how we handle advertising and partner links.
